Program Overview

The Government of Canada expects that the start-up projects of immigrant entrepreneurs will create new “Silicon Valleys” across the country, driving economic growth and generating jobs.

The Start-up Visa Program is designed to attract talented entrepreneurs with innovative, breakthrough business ideas to immigrate to Canada, launch start-ups, and develop creative, high-potential ventures that bring economic benefits and create employment for Canadians.

Approved applicants receive full permanent resident status in Canada, and after 3 years may apply for Canadian citizenship, regardless of whether the start-up ultimately succeeds or not.

High Quality of Life

Canada is consistently ranked among the countries with the highest quality of life in the world, known for its safety, clean air, modern infrastructure, and stunning natural landscapes. Residents enjoy comprehensive healthcare, high-quality education, and a healthy work-life balance.

Canada’s public healthcare system is funded by the government, ensuring that all legal residents have access to necessary medical care without paying at the point of use. People receive high-quality primary and specialist care in a transparent and equitable system.

Canada has an outstanding education system that is publicly funded from elementary through high school, ensuring all children can attend school free of charge in a safe, modern environment. The curriculum encourages creativity, life skills, and global integration, helping students develop in a well-rounded and equitable way.

A wide range of programs—from skilled workers and investors to family reunification—attracts global talent and capital. Immigration not only creates personal opportunities but also contributes to the country’s sustainable development.

Canada offers abundant job opportunities across diverse sectors such as technology, healthcare, engineering, education, and services. Supportive labour policies and strong demand for skilled workers help immigrants advance their careers. This provides a solid foundation for building long-term success.

Canada is regarded as one of the safest and most stable countries in the world, with low crime rates, a transparent legal system, and a welcoming social environment. People live in peace, with strong respect for multiculturalism—an ideal setting to raise children and build a long-term career.
